We had our first Golden Lunch celebration Friday! Four students from each grade that show consistent positive choices during lunch were able to celebrate at a special table. Their names are also displayed on our wall along with their drawings from lunch. We will celebrate this Golden Lunch each month. Way to go Bears!
We are restarting our chess club at Bryant School. The club is for 4th and 5th grade students who want to improve their chess game. The purpose is to play chess, learn new strategies, and have fun! Students of all skill levels are invited to attend.
We will meet on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:15 p.m. in Room 309 beginning on January 24. The capacity is 20 students after which students will be placed on a waiting list.
Ask your student if they got a permission slip!
Due to the impending weather, all Sioux City Community Schools will dismiss 2 hours early tomorrow (1/18/23).
The downtown offices will close at 1:30 PM.

👋 No School Reminder 👋 There will be no school on Friday, January 13 due to a teacher workday.
🚨 Weather Alert 🚨 Due to the weather, the Sioux City Community School District will be closed today, Tuesday, January 3.
❄️Winter break is coming! ❄️Here are some important dates to remember: Wednesday, December 21 one-hour early out, Thursday, December 22 through Monday, January 2 no school, Tuesday, January 3 school resumes. Have a safe and enjoyable winter break!
🚨 Weather Alert 🚨 Due to impending weather which may cause hazardous driving conditions, all schools will dismiss two hours early today (12/8/22). Elementary schools will dismiss at 1:30 pm, middle schools will dismiss at 12:45 pm, and high schools will dismiss at 12:55 pm. All after school and evening activities are also canceled.
In addition, the ESC building downtown will close at 2:00 pm.
👋 Break Reminder 👋 There will be a district-wide one-hour early dismissal on Wednesday, November 23. School will not be in session on Thursday, November 24 or Friday, November 25 for Thanksgiving break. School will resume for students on Monday, November 28.

We are looking for more volunteers to join our District’s Grassroots Advocacy Committee. If you have a passion for supporting public education, consider joining this committee. The Grassroots Advocacy Team is an important resource for the District to disseminate information about important legislative priorities. While you will never be required to attend a meeting, as a volunteer advocate, you will receive email updates about important legislation impacting our school and be asked to contact legislators to advocate on our behalf.
